Katherine

This afternoon I thought I'd share with you this ADORABLE shot of Katherine from a couple days ago. She's a total HAM, isn't she?!? These are her six-month portraits. We had a GREAT time together. I can't wait to see her at one year when she goes "mobile" on her parents - HA!

Nice shot. This was done in your studio? You talked briefly back in August and March about the studio in your home. Could you talk a little about your setup? Perhaps a shot or two of the setup.

Thanks

Hi Monty!

We bought this house a year ago specifically because of the large open area upstairs that we converted to a full-service studio and two offices. This image was taken on a white Savage background with an Alien Bee strobe in a large softbox on her left, a reflector on her right for fill, and two more strobes lighting the background at +1 exposure for that clean bright illumination. I shot it with a Nikon D2x and 70-200 f2.8 lens. We use a WT2a transmitter for our studio work to wirelessly transmit the images to our workstation while we shoot so that clients can see the images immediately after the session.

Thanks for the reply. I am an aspiring photographer and am trying to learn all I can.

My hope is within the next year to be a second shooter for others. So forgive me if I ask a lot. You make great photos and provide inspiration.

You're quite welcome, Monty! I'm always glad to help. Did you get my invite to lunch?

No I did not, but would like the chance to meet with you and others in the area. I moved back down from DC in June. I have lived out of town for the last 15 years. Trying to get out and meet people here again. I was getting involved at slyhorse studios up in Maryland before I left.

Thanks
